I’m voting ‘Yes’ on Prop B to only allow public camping in areas designated by the Parks & Recreation Dept. Here's why:
‘Yes’ for my friends Edwardo, a Navy veteran and Sarita, a strong beautiful young woman; currently the city provides them 1 violet trash bag a week. My friends deserve to be treated with dignity. A ‘Yes’ vote forces the city to take real action for them.
‘Yes’ for homeless safety. Just in the camp near my home, there are daily fires, shootings, weekly stabbings and there have been 4 homeless murders in the last 6 months. Sometimes I feel that the city doesn’t care. This must stop.
‘Yes’ allows us to start offering a compassionate solution to our brothers & sisters who are homeless. We can’t continue to allow them to live in severely unsanitary and unsafe conditions. They need help now including close access to basic services like food, bathroom facilities, real protection from rain, sweltering heat, freezing temperatures, mental health services, and job training.
‘Yes’, let’s work together! While researching, I realized that all sides really want the same thing. I truly believe we can solve this problem without the negative impact on the environment, and safety of Austin all while moving our homeless community toward a positive, community building, sustainable future.
‘Yes’ marks the call to action. It’s a starting point to help our homeless. The city would no longer be able to ignore this vulnerable population.
I know the solution will take an overwhelming amount of work & it will take all of us working together. A ‘Yes’ vote can be our starting point. Lets work together - Vote YES on B
Thank you for stopping by. We love our neighbors & desire to server others. Please let us know your thoughts.
I do not know these organizations stand on Prop B, but they help the homeless. So please volunteer or donate time :)
